The vigils: reflections and new directions

At the 2025 NuoViso summer festival, Lars Mährholz, Wojna and the hosts revisit the peace vigils of 2014. Archival footage of speeches, music, encounters and conflicts alternates with their discussion. Mährholz recalls how intensive research and an online post prompted him to organise a demonstration and write his first public speech. He describes the movement’s rapid networking and later tensions. Looking back, he also identifies his own anger and frustration as limits to his approach at the time. He now places greater emphasis on personal development, reflection and shared action. As one possible direction, he proposes a silent protest outside the Reichstag. The programme combines personal memories with the participants’ political interpretations.
