Iceland: ice, water and open landscapes.

Iceland fills my photo archive in August 2019. The journey takes in streets and waterfalls, a blue ice tunnel and a helicopter flight over the landscape.

A helicopter flight over Iceland.

My post at Norðurflug in Reykjavík begins with a brief “See you later”. The following photographs show landscapes from the air: mountains, rivers, ice and volcanic terrain. One captures me beside the landed helicopter.

Reykjavík on foot and through the camera.

My archive includes street art, houses, waterfront views and architecture from the city. There are also photographs of the harbour and a whale-watching boat. A night-time picture carries my remark that it was still light at 22:55.

The Geysir area, waterfalls and ice.

Photographs from the geothermal area show a geyser erupting and visitors around it. Other images capture waterfalls, including a self-portrait in front of a large one. I also appear in several pictures inside the blue ice tunnel. The photographs preserve those impressions even where an individual location is not named.

Keeping pictures and memories together.

My Iceland archive also contains rock landscapes and waterfalls from a series tagged Borgarnes. I present the photographs with their actual subjects. Exact names remain open for waterfalls, craters and landing sites that were not identified.
