About this conversation
In this talk, Lars Mährholz describes his move from organising large peace demonstrations towards questions of thought, responsibility and inner peace. He discusses courses he attended and his interest in psychology, nonviolent communication and spirituality. He uses Spiral Dynamics as a map of personal development, then explores his sense of human connection and Jesus as a personal role model. Through his reading of Alfred Adler and Sigmund Freud, he considers how expectations of the future can shape present behaviour. Examples from housebuilding, relationships and skydiving explain his argument. He stresses that imagination alone does not guarantee success: plans, decisions and action are also necessary. He closes by asking what kind of world each person wants to make more likely through thought and action. Practical suggestions sit alongside his personal spiritual interpretations.
